Lachlan Norris wins the Tour of Tasmania 2012 while Jay McCarthy claimed the final stage

With his 17th place finish in the final stage of the Tour of Tasmania 2012, Lachlan Norris of Team Drapac Professional Cycling had enough lead to claim the top podium spot at the Tour of Tasmania 2012.
He managed to finish the nine-stage race in a total time of 14 hours and 51 minutes and restricted Mark O’Brien of Team Budget Forklifts and Nathan Earle of Team Genesys Wealth Advisers.
O’Brien fell 17 second short at the second while Nathan Earle finished further 37 seconds behind to occupy the third podium position after the final general classifications.
Jay McCarthy of Team Jayco-Apollo-VIS and Peter Herzig of Team Budget Forklifts occupied the fourth and the fifth positions at the Tour of Tasmania 2012.
Jay McCarthy wins the final stage of the race after his splendid performance during the 51.6 kilometre race at Devonport 2012.
He took a total time of 1 hour, 14 minutes and 53 seconds to occupy the top podium position with Luke Fetch of Team Search2Retain securing the second spot.
Benjamin Hill of Team Suzuki-Trek finished five seconds behind and achieved the third position with James Williamson of Team PureBlack Racing and Anthony Giacoppo of Team Genesys Wealth Advisers finishing at the fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
Neil Van Der Ploeg of Team Search2Retain leads the Sprint Championships with a total number of 48 points to his credit while Daniel Barry, Joshua Taylor, Blair Windsor and Luke Fetch achieved the second, third, fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
