Question:

Lack of body movements because of social anxiety or cause or just me?

I've been suffering social anxiety for ages and speech problems. I've found that I have actually been very tense and holding back the normal movements that your face/head/body makes when talking or just acting normal. My speech has become much more relaxed and I'm feeling much better since trying to be more relaxed. Is this a common problem with people with social anxiety?

  1. I was diagnosed with social anxiety about ten years ago, but I don't think I've ever experienced what you are.

It's good that you are aware of your reactions though so that you can try and work on that. =)

  2. yes ive done that too. i believe its due to the anxiety. if you have anxiety about yourself and what people see in you, you would control your talking movements and reactions down to the smallest thing. i have a little social anxiety & gad since I was young and I have almost no natural reaction at all, unless Im with close friends or completely comfortable.
