Lack of future planning is the root-cause behind the downfall of Australia and India, says Nasser Hussain - Cricket News Update
Former England captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nasser-Hussain-c78777 has said that the lack of planning is the root-cause behind the downfall of the Australian cricket and same is the case now with the present Indian team.
Nasser believes that a team must think about the future and should plan according to that if it wants to remain at the top in world cricket, because majority of the leading cricketing nations are very close to each other when it comes to quality.
He said that one of the major reasons behind the poor Aussie performance in last couple of years has been the fact that they lacked a quality spinner. Shane Warne dazzled the cricketing world for a long time and played a huge role in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s success,
but Hussain feels that the present lot of Aussie spinners is very ordinary.
Nasser said, “It's amazing how Australia, with that bowling attack, suddenly fell off a cliff, really. We were told all the time how great http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672 was. Then you see [Michael] Beer and [Xavier] Doherty and whatever playing. You've got to make sure you
are thinking about the future all the time.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 and company were whitewashed in the four-match Test series in England,
which is no less than a humiliation for one of the top teams of the world.
Nasser expressed that Indian cricket officials were over the moon after the successes but they failed to plan for the future. He rates Indian Premier League (IPL) as a dangerous thing for India as the players have started to concentrate more on the cash-rich
league, instead of International cricket.
“That's what has disappointed me about India on this tour. They were sinking in the present. World Cup, World No. 1, IPL, celebration. You've almost got to be ahead of the curve, all the time, and it takes a very clever man to do that,” the former England
captain added.
