Question:

Lack of sleep a problem?

ok, so yesterday I was out with some friends and didn't go to sleep untill six in the morning, after about three and a half hours I get a call and it turns out that I have to go to work. I got home from work at four pm. I install carpet and it wasn't that bad today but then I called my gf and when I tell her that I didn't sleep much she got really mad. she INSISTS that it's really unhealthy to miss sleep like that but the truth is I feel fine so I need people to tell me if it really IS that unhealthy to miss about four hours of sleep........doctor's opinions greatly appreciated, thanks

  1. its unhealthy if it is something consistent.  once in a while is ok.  but our bodies need to rest at least 6 hours a day.  but if it happens once in a while it causes stress and some people gain weight.


  2. This is totally in the wrong category. however.  Sleep deprivation can cause things like car  wrecks. Also, when you lose sleep it makes your body more susceptible to disease.  Take a nap and get to bed at a decent hour.
