What are some good lacrosse workouts for 6th 7th and 8th graders competing with older girls? specificly for girls and middie(midfielder). Thanks!!

  1. I've played lacrosse for almost all my life. So steal the bacon is a good game, split into 2 teams give out numbers and throw the ball and call a number its good for practicing offense and defense. you should also do line drills they really help on ground balls and passing. when your playing middie you do lots of running so trying running around a track to increase your speed. You should also practive shooting goals on a goalie, because middies sometimes shoot.


  2. i play lacrosse and for a midfielder i would have to say a lot of running, make games where u play tag, or where u run starting at a point say from a restraining line on the field to the other and have the girls start out running at 25% and have them work their way up to 100% then have them take a quick water break and then start at 100% and work themselves back down to 25%. this should last about 20-25 min. Also to a lot of wall ball is also great to keep up with their skills. Too set up some girls in a circle and have them practice draws b/c that is a crucial part of the game.Another way to practice draws is have two girls stand about a foot apart with their sticks and through a ball up to help them practice catching a ball that is higher up. For endurance and ground balls, you can have  3 girls to of them stand about 20 or so feet apart with each of them with a ball between their feet and the third girl with a ball in her hand, has to run back and forth switching the ball with the ball inbetween the other girls feet with on hand this should go for only about 3 min. then also line drills are very helpful and always make sure u practice cradling,   shooting on goals and if u use half of a field and do scrimages where u can practice offense and defense, also u may want to practice legal checking
