My son was put on soy milk (which I have done)as he was deemed lactose intolerant, but the peadeatrician also advised me to give him 10 ml of lactulose twice daily, for constipation which contains lactose. Why would he suggest this?

  1. You need a nutritionist, not a doctor to advise on what your son should eat.  Doctors have no clue about nutrition because they are not trained in it.  To recommend soy milk to anyone is ludicrous and shows his/her ignorance.  Soy milk contains lots of sugar, heavy metal aluminum, phytoestrogens that will cause your son to become deficient in testosterone, and is loaded with goitrogens that slow your thyroid down.  It is so bad that even the drug industry warns against using it when taking any thyroid medication because it neutralizes the medication and makes it ineffective.  If you really want to learn about SOY, you can read the book called, "The Whole Soy Story."  It is very detailed, peer reviewed and very informative as to how SOY is very bad for a person.

In regard to your son's "lactose" intolerance, you may find he is not intolerant at all.  He may be, but chances are he is not.  If he has a problem with pasteurized / homogenized milk, cheeses like those made by Kraft company, etc., he is lucky he gets a reaction to that junk.  If anyone has given your son an antibiotic at some time in his life, he has a compromised immune system due to the intestinal flora being destroyed and then most likely, using fluoride tooth paste, drinking tap water, sodas, etc., along with not eating fermented foods has prevented him from getting a proper flora in his intestines.

Lactulose, is a combination of simple sugars (monosaccharides) fructose and galactose.  It is a laxative that draws water out of the colon.  Some people are intolerant to galactose just like they are of lactose and can cause a reaction as well.  It doesn't contain lactose.  The reason your doctor recommended it is because he believes that this drug will force your son to go poo each day.

To treat the symptom of constipation with a drug is ludicrous.  It may stop the constipation, but it does not address the real "root cause" of your son's problem.  I've never, ever known anyone to be deficient in drugs.

Lactase is an enzyme produced by the body that digests dairy products.  Most people are born with the ability to produce this enzyme and when given breast milk, it is designed to break down the lactose found in that milk.  As we age, we tend to lose the ability to produce this enzyme.  This is why fermented dairy products like home made keifer can be tolerated well by anyone that is truly lactose intolerant because in the fermentation process, the bacteria eat the lactose-glucose molecules, leaving a soured flavor due to the lack of those sugars.

Milk sold in the Mausoleums where dead food is held in state is pasteurized.  This is done because the dairy cows used to make the milk are fed grain and then held in pens where they tromp around in their f***s and contaminate their udders with human pathogens.  This pasteurization process leaves millions of dead bacterial carcasses and altered calcium that can only be force digested by adding lots of vitamin D.  The vitamin D they use is a synthetic chemical activator, not actually vitamin D that damages your DNA.  The homogenization process is a clever way the dairy industry dreamed up to save them money.  The less butterfat in the milk, the cheaper to make.  When they homogenize it, they crush the butterfat cells and cause "chards" of foreign amino acids that generate allergies from the homocystein response of the body.

The "one day" cheeses that you buy are loaded with lactose because they are not aged.  The natural aging process gets rid of over 90% of the lactose in cheeses.  It is another fermentation process.  Buy only cheeses that are aged over 90 days and preferrably raw cheeses made from grass fed cows.

Go to:  www.organicpastures.com  and look at what they are offering.  Read the information and learn some basics on what makes good quality dairy products.  Don't rely on what the dairy industry is promoting.  They are interested in profit, not health.  One of the officials of the California Department of Agriculture recently was involved in working with local organic raw milk producers to develop a comprehensive standard for raw milk.  She was told she was lactose intolerant.  She is now drinking raw milk with no problems.

I strongly suggest you locate a Certified Nutritional Therapist that can test your son to determine any nutritional deficiencies and to recommend a good diet.

It's just not easy to be healthy in America today.

  2. He might get constipated with out a little lactose, the soy could bind him up.

It's probably just to be on the safe side.

  3. Hi, I'm a lactose intolerant sufferer and by giving your son lactose he wont be suffering constipation. Instead, it will ease the symptom as it will make the stool to be soften. Hope it help.
