  1. Thats great.

  2. I agree with them.  Both men and women are in need of their issues being heard and advocated for....not just women.  Frankly I believe those against the need for men's rights are just as sexist as those they speak against.

  3. Men have always had rights and exercised them, when possible.  The Declaration of Independence comes to mind.

  4. I agree that men should have rights. The first two make a lot of sense.

I don't completely agree with the third one though. If a guy is man enough to make a baby then he should be man enough to take care of it. You think she's lying about birth control? You should've used a condom.

But I don't think it's fair that the mother of the baby can have an abortion or give up the baby without the father's consent. I also don't think it's fair that father's often loose custody after a divorce.

Women can earn money too. We don't just spend it.

Violence against both men and women often go unreported. That isn't a male vs. female issue. It's an human being issue.

  5. I am all for men taking intiative to raise awareness and lobby for legitimate legislation to address the issues they face.   Most of what I have seen, however, is backlash rather than legitimate human rights violations.  I'm sure some men will thumb me down, but you asked for opinions, and here is mine:

Men die earlier because they are not proactive with their health. They don't have regular check ups and they often delay treatment for illness and injury. Sometimes they delay it to the point where it is beyond treatment.

The solution to this is drastic lifestyle change, and any individual man can make that decision at any time.   There is nothing standing in their way.

Homelessness is a serious problem.  There are few resources for homeless men - most are left to fend for themselves.   I do often wonder whether mental health or addiction problems are the cause of homelessness for a majority of these men.  If they are struggling, why aren't there public resources to help them?

I am somewhat sympathetic to the reproductive rights issues men face, but to be fair, I have to ask whether they are truly doing everything in their power to prevent unwanted pregnancy.   Too many men leave all responsibility to contraception up to the woman and then yell "Foul"  when she winds up pregnant.

And in the case of divorce, again I ask...did you do everything possible to work things out?  And don't you want your children  (which were conceived in marriage) to have a financially comfortable life?   Many men use child support as a weapon to punish their ex-spouse.   I wonder if they realize how this harms THEIR children?

  6. men have always been privy to rights women still strive for. if you feel that you need to campaign for more, be my guest.

  7. This is preposterous.

"Only women have the extraordinary freedom to enjoy sexual intimacy free from the fear of forced parenthood"

Are these men arguing that they should be able to force a woman to have an abortion else not support the child that they jointly conceived?

I only wish that as a woman I could enjoy sexual intimacy free the fear of any parenthood actually. I seem to be somehow "held hostage" by my ability to reproduce and therefore am forced to use birth control. Woe is me.

Here's another interesting one: "An overwhelming majority of the homeless are men"

That's because an overwhelming majority of destitute women become s*x workers. Meanwhile, women still count for 60% of the world's poor, and in industrialized nations, women still make about 68% of a man's income for the same work, 60% of women rely on welfare at some moment of their lives, and 52% of social assistance recipients are families with children.

Is this men's rights movement solely based on increasing the social standard of men to further oppress women and children? This is a perversion on the meaning of equality.

  8. I think it's completely fine. Everyone deserves a voice, and everyone, male, female, black, white, g*y, straight, needs an advocate at some point. Men are just as welcome as women to fight for equal rights and fair treatment.

  9. I absolutely support addressing serious issues that largely affect men. Why wouldn't I? I have a father, two brothers, a husband and two sons I love and want the best for.

However, I must tell you, jumperplight, that if your beef is largely with s*x issues, as your comments imply, this question takes a turn for the ridiculous. You're upset over the social customs of dating and initiating s*x? THAT's what makes it hard being a man nowadays? Hilarious.

  10. I think its fine but why do they claim they are the only ones?  What about Men's Rights Activist?

  11. its fair

  12. I think that's fine. I will support that since alot of it is true.

  13. It's about time.

Also, I don't think we should ask how women feel about it.

Men's advocacy is a threat to their privileged class status.

  14. Lol I'd like to see how they conquer the men dying faster thang...

  15. Instead of leveling the playing field......Women have abused men's rights.

  16. I think some divorce laws need to change.

I see now men getting cheated on and wives or gf leaving the relationship now and leaving kids behind.  I think some men need to take the kids instead of some unfit mothers. But that is just me lol.

  17. I don't think men die eight years earlier, but if they do should it be made illegal? I believe in joint custody in most cases.

  18. I don't see anything wrong with it. Women want equality and fight to remove social injustices against women. So why can't men do the same?
