did you ever have a cake made that read "Happy Labor Day" for the mommy-to-be? Did you ever see or have a cake made for a party that read something really cute and unique either for a holiday, birthday, anniversary, etc?

(I wanted to put this in Seniors category but welcome all to answer and besides, Yahoo has been suggesting weird categories lately to put your questions in so it really doesn't matter....lol)

  1. No, I have never seen that. I had a cake with my picture on it and it was very weird to have to slice through my face to eat the cake. Think I prefer a stork or booties and pacifiers or baby bears on a baby shower cake. Like the traditional for babies.

  2. WOW have you ever seen this site?the "Sweet Art" computer for adding edible pictures to cakes and cookies.  It is a computer with a scanner that allows us to scan a photo you bring us with no harm to your original photo (photos can also be e-mailed in JPEG format).  We can edit and re-size the scanned image up to an 8X10".  The printer utilizes food color in a horizontal printer that prints on icing for a totally edible finished product.  It truly must be seen to be appreciated.  I have included a number of examples here on this page, (click on photo for a larger view).  Our system allows us to add more than one picture to a cake as you will see as you scroll down.  We can also put pictures on the sides of cakes as a couple of the pictures show.  We can even add them to chocolate or cream cheese icing and even whipped topping or sugar cookies.  We can add writing either by the computer, in a variety of fonts or with icing.  we can place the pictures at an angle or add figure piped bodies or drawings as you will see below and we can even do children's art work.  There is a great number of possibilities to truly customize a cake for birthday, graduation, retirement, anniversary, bridal or baby shower.

    "Happy Holler-ween!" Get it? (holler for scream, yell, er...you know. lol

    love ya

    {{{hugs}}}

  5. that's cute . but to be honest with you my LABOR day was anything but happy . until they handed me my child , i just wanted it over . and now . lol .

    have fun with your party . d.

  6. That is too clever.

    Now, why didn't I think of that first.

  7. I've never seen "Happy Labor Day" for a baby shower before, but that's clever.  I can't think of anything unique I've seen written on a cake.  However, I've been to two weddings recently that featured Mad Hatter style wedding cakes.  Each layer is sort of topsy-turvy and uneven, and the icing is very colorful and smooth.  Not traditional at all but very trendy!
