  1. They are all sexist. If anyone disagrees with me they are Radical Feminist:)

  2. I can never understand women wanting to be equal to men, why do they have such low ambitions? (me!)

  3. 1) The first one is fairly insulting to women as well as men-so it's not a quote I've liked.

    2) People use to think that because women's brains were smaller than men's that meant that women were dumb-so the first statement was true in the past for quite a few women. But the second part of the quote is insulting.

    3) The third sounds like a sarcastic retort stated after hearing how inferior women are-as designed by God. But it's not nice.

    4) The fourth is definitely insulting-poor Nancy Astor's spouse!

    5) What a generalization! Yes-some men were disrespectful towards women in the past-but I don't believe the majority of men have hated women.

Most of the quotes are fairly old (Astor was born in 1879 and Whitton was born in 1896). As quite a few of them are considered insulting now-can you imagine how radical they were in the past? I'm not condoning them-but I'm amazed anyone said those things in the past when both men and women in the past thought so little of women and of their capabilities.

  4. They are cute and clever, but like most sound bites, have very little resembling truth to them.

  5. Don't forget babies, Troll.  Men can't make babies yet, can they?  So realistically, how would all your male accomplishments have taken place if there were no "men" to create them?

I wasn't callling her a troll, I was talking to the answerer GS&W Troll.

    Peace

  6. I laughed at the first 4, but I disagree with the last one.  Some people hate everything, I wouldn't say the majority of men hate women, anymore than the majority of women hate men, or why would we still bother?

  7. First: I would have thought the average woman cared a lot less about what the average man wanted from her.

Second: That has been true for some, but I don't know how true it is now, or where.

    Third: That's just sexist.

    Fourth: So is that.

Fifth: And that, in most cases.

  8. 1. "Women would rather have beauty" I think I can agree with. Because we are judged on that more (whether it's fair or not). The end of the quote with the male part is stupid.

    2. Made just to bash men and be negative. Worthless.

    3. Pretty funny. A good comeback to men saying God created Man first. Not to be taken seriously.

    4. Again. Men bashing and stupid. Trust me, a lot of women marry up.

    5. Uninsightful, negative, hateful, ignorant.

Overall, I don't like them. I don't like quotes that bash men or women, anyone really. They are just negative and not constructive in any way. They breed conflict and have no real substance.

  9. I would probably look at those questions differently everday, so i dont have an exact opinion.

  10. I think that they are excessively aggressive and negative in the present political climate, but that at the time they were said, it was a sort of Hammurabi's Code-- women were being insulted as a group a lot more than at present. Two wrongs don't make a right, however.

  11. First - Rio said it best :-) Personally I prefer to have my brains over my beauty, but I don't really care what the average man thinks of either

Second - The first bit is often true, even now. The second bit sounds as though she's joking :-)

    Third - As a joke it's funny :-)

    Fourth - So is that.

Fifth - This one is quite sinister but I'm sure it's true in many cases. I don't know if 'hate' is the right word though, perhaps despise. Or 'how little men respect them'. And I disagree with the implication that it applies to all or most women / men.

  12. 1- I think that may be true for some very young women and teens, but I find it very untrue for most.  I think the beauty industry wishes this was true though.  You can buy beauty, you can't buy brains.

2- This was probably true when women first started working along side men nearly 50 years ago, but I don't find it to be true anymore.

3- I think this is simply a joke and not to be taken with any anything more than a grain of salt.  I good rebuttal is similar only in Scientific terms of how all humans begin female (hence why men have nipples).

4- I don't agree with this misandrist view at all.  I feel sorry for her husband.

5- It sounds like he and Nancy Astor would have made a lovely couple....and he should speak for himself.  Most men I know only hate women who are hateful or unfair.
