Ladies High heel shoes. How do you measure the heel height?

Is it the height from the base to the tip, on the inside (or front) or the back?

Or is it simply how high it causes the wearer to be raised up?

10 points immediatly for the first answer to be able to show me why there answer is correct.

This is not a kink thing, I'm just curious about it, after getting an ear bending from Mrs Vulture about a pair of heels that were the wrong height.

  2. Heel measurements

    The most common method for measuring heels is to place the heel, with heel tip, on a flat surface and then measure from the surface to the top of the heel - see picture:



    The heel height includes the top-piece thickness.

    The measurement is taken from the seat of the heel.

    * this method can vary,

    Heel height guide

    Flat  from 25 mm to flat

    Low from 25 mm to 60 mm

    Medium from 60mm to 85mm  

    High  from 85mm to 100mm  

    Very High from 100mm plus
