Ladies: Period Troubles?

Ladies,

I have been off birth control now for 3 months, after taking it for several years to regulate my periods. I also have a ectopic pregnancy 2 years ago this month. I haven't had a period since June 18 and the pregnancy tests say negative. What is going on?

  1. You would want to get that checked out. Get a blood test to check if you're pregnant. Its almost 3 months without your period. You just maybe pregnant because you have been off your birth control and havent had a period for 3 months. Store bought tests arent always 100%.

    I hope I helped.

    Good Luck!

  2. There have been certain studies that show not to use birth control for elongated periods of time to avoid some complications. Some doctors simply say there is no correlation while others will not let their patients stay on birth control consistently for longer than 1-2 years. Your doctor should have asked when you were trying to conceive to avoid situations like irregular pregnancies and temperamental periods.

I think you should go back to the GYN, maybe even a v***a specialist (more educated on female anatomy and problems), to see why you haven't had your period. There could be a range of problems that are affecting your body; could be as simple as a cyst- to polysistic ovarian disease, to endometriosis, or your body just needed to get back to a normal cycle after years of birth control. The most concerning issue is that being an adult there is no "normal" in missed periods and your problem really needs to be addressed by a specialist.

Good Luck to you, and I hope everything works out! Make an appointment and try not to worry in the process! Take care hun!
