  1. You start counting your cycle on the DAY YOU START a period. If you have a short cycle (28 days or less until your next period) you should ovulate somewhere between the 10th and 13th day after your period started. If your cycle is longer (more than 35 days) you are more likely to ovulate around cycle day 18 to 20. The most accurate way to tell when you are ovulating is to take your first morning temperature and keep a chart, as well as keeping track of the type of mucus your cervix produces.  check out www.fertilityfriend.com

  2. Start counting from day 1 of your period.

Keep in mind that sperm can live in a woman for up to a week, so having s*x BEFORE ovulation is effective.  The egg dies 12-24 hours after ovulation, and it takes some time for sperm to travel.  so a few days before is best

This site has a free charting course to find out when you ovulate and will help you determine when the best time for intercourse for conception will be. You count from the first day of your period. So, if you started on July 1st, your 14th day would be around July 15. However, every woman ovulates at different times. If you are lucky, you will have a 28 day cycle and ovulate on the 14th day, but most women vary. Read the course. Good luck to you...

  4. The first day of your period is day one.  You count 14 days afrer that, and that is when on average most women ovulate, it is an average some are more some are less.  Good luck.

  5. ovulation can differ from person to person to month to month. If you are trying to get pregnant, i would recommend have s*x every other day for two weeks after your period ends. Thats what worked for us! I am 35 weeks....Good luck!

  6. The first day of your period is considered "cycle day 1" or CD 1. If you have a 28day cycle then theoretically day 14 would be your ovulation day. So you would count from the day you started your period. However, it's not true that all women ovulate on day 14, or 2 weeks from the start of their period. Every woman is different and cycles can range from 26 days all the way up to 32. The best way to figure out when you're ovulating is to use an OPK ovulation prediction kit or an ovulation microscope (they're really cheap, accurate, and reusable). Hope that helped clear things up a little.

You can also check your cervical mucus... it changes during your fertile days. It becomes more "sperm friendly"
