I am supposed to go to a water park soon, and it just so happens my period is due within that time : ( . Someone told me you could still go swimming if you put a tampon on. I dont know if it's such a good idea. I get anything from heavy to light periods. Opinions, stories, advice are all welcomed. : ) Thanx for your help.

  1. Alway's did and No water soaks into it as it's up there? So Yes it's fine. You can't go without one other wise I would stay home.

  2. its fine as long as you insert it right

follow the instructions and you could sort of pactice earlier so your not stuck on the day

    :) good luck

  3. Absolutely ok. They are comfortable and when inserted properly, you cannot even tell they are there.

I would go with a medium absorbency if you are not sure what your flow will be like that day. Check every 2-3 hours...

  4. Yeah you can wear them when you swim. My swim coach said that they are much saver than wearing pads in the pool.

    Hope I helped!

  5. eek.i wouldnt.

  6. You can get any size tampon. There are ones through heavy and light. If you've never worn one before you might want to start with smaller ones. If you do just make sure you check it every couple hours. Tampons are perfect for the water. I'm a swimmer. I would know. :)

  7. of course! what else would you do? i do. i think every (girl) does.

  8. duh, thats one of main reasons of a tampon...

  9. Perfectly OK.  If you are going to be there all day, bring an extra tampon or two so you can change them if you need to.

  10. You'll be fine if you use a tampon at a water park. just be sur e to change it regularly if you've got a heavy period.

  11. I have gone swimming with tampons many, many times. It's perfectly okay.

If you aren't used to using them, practice beforehand. Start with the slimmer ones. There are detailed instructions in every box, read them carefully and follow them. If you are practicing "dry" use some KY Jelly on them to avoid irritation.

I recommend Playtex Gentle Glide. I never have "accidents" because of the way they are made, nearly accident-proof.

You will probably want to take extras. You need to change them at least every 8 hours, and I always do after swimming. If you don't want your extras in plain view, you can put them in a small make-up bag that isn't see-thru. That's what I do. You can also use an extra case for glasses. Basically anything they'll fit in will work. I once knew a girl who would carry one spare in a clean toothbrush case!

Don't worry about tampons and swimming, or showering. I think that's why they were invented! Take some spares, take your Midol, and have fun!

  12. it is absolutely fine to swim with a tampon in. if it starts a few days before you go, i suggest knowing if it's heavy or light. if it's light, use a slender regular or slender. if it's heavy, use normal. if they don't fit, just use the smaller one down. i suggest changing maybe every hour if it's heavy and every hour and a half or two if it's light. good luck!
