  1. This portion in the article says alot.

"Domestic violence is now taken seriously by all state institutions, and every police force has its own domestic violence team. A woman fearing abuse does not have to suffer alone. She can pick up the phone, and the police and social services will respond."  That why her premise for the proposed legislation is absurd.

  2. Men also suffer domestic violence, but it is very difficult to prove with either s*x. The effects of persistent nagging is grossly under-estimated, but isn't a defence to a man who snaps, whereas women can kill in cold blood if they 'FEEL' that they may suffer future DM. No woman needs to stay in such a relationship these days. Utter madness!

Have a care ladies, you have fathers, brothers, sons who could be victims of deranged people like Harman et al. Your silence is deafening.

The very existence of a ministerial post "Minister for Women" is an outrage. This women only represents 50% of her constituents. The country is going to the dogs, and all this self serving woman can think about is abusing her position. As with terrorists, it is always the extremists who get their way. Cowardly men and self serving feminists are putting us all at risk. We are now seeing the extent of their hatred, because they have been given all the rope they need.

  3. What is actually being proposed is that women who suffer domestic violence and kill their partners will be charged with manslaughter rather than murder - NOT that they will get of scott free. They will also have to prove that they suffered systematic abuse, I very much doubt that one black eye wil be seen as justification.

  4. No i don't agree with you at all. Having watched a debate between two stalwarts on women's rights, one who was against this law and the other for, the MP won my vote. She explained in far more detail the ins and outs of this legislation and to my mind put a much better case for its introduction.

And do you condone the men who kill their wives and have been getting away with it largely for centuries. Two women murdered by a partner every week, where was the justice for them, and the majority of these men got a much lesser sentence for the points put across by clever counsel, that the women nagged or were unfaithful, two points i might add men are more adept at than women.

Don't believe everything you read in the paper, have a look in depth at  the legislation before assuming that its a

open door policy on women getting away with murdering their partners, just not so.

and the women on here too should have a look at the law too

because they might one day be on the receiving end of an abusive, murderous partner.

I answered Dave S question too and i think its been deleted

  5. I refuse to rant again on this subject!

If you wanna see my views check out my answer to Dave S's evaluation on the subject earlier.

  6. i aint even going to open that link,

    what a load of tripe.

  7. Look back over Dave S's question earlier today regarding this, it was quite controvercial! - Actually i think he got hoist by his own pettard!

  8. and there's me thinking Dave s was the only clueless t**t around here when it comes to things like this

    how wrong I was eh.......

  9. Dave S brought this up earlier. it was a very good question and don't see why it got deleted.

there are self defense laws which should surely cover this sort of thing. there is no need to give ANYONE a license to kill.

as hard as it may be when you are in that situation, there are other options, murder should literally be the last resort. It's not as simple as just walking away, but it's a bit easier than killing someone.

and as you pointed out, some very sick women might take advantage of this. give yourself a few bruises....

they should be finding other means of helping victims of domestic violence. not this rubbish!

  10. nothing is ever that black or white....domestic abuse happens

within our culture, there is a law against hitting children now

woman should also be added to that law

she makes up stories of black eyes  must have already

been heard a thousand times by the refuge centres

  11. it easy to move some else, its god job

to put some in the cemetery,if you really

feel like hurting someone you should go to the

hospital and tell them, you need meds for

is kind of thinking no joke!!!!!!

  12. as somebody who has been through domestic violence and studied the subject its not going to be that simple. i have also worked at hostels for battered women

just for the record two women a week die in the uk due to domestic violence

one mans hostel  was set up for male victims of domestic violence but was shut down as it was underused

if men dont hit their partners they really have nothing to worry about do they, some males on here are scarily worried

  13. BOLLOCKS

For once I do not agree with you.

    NOT funny in the least.

  14. I'm completely with you on this - I think this new legislation is basically a licence to kill.

Why can each situation be judged on a case by case basis, and if there is sufficient evidnece to show persistent and long term abuse, then this can be taken into account?
