Question:

Ladies: if you know what it feels like to be "overlooked" because of your gender, why ... ?

Why would any woman want to do that to another woman?

If a lady knows how it feels to be snubbed and treated as not good enough, or just a girl, why would a Feminist Lady treat other ladies the very same way? Always talking about inclusion, but purposefully giving out exclusion?

Hypocrite much?

  1. I know exactly the kind of behavior you're talking about, and the trouble is that it starts as early as junior high. That's when girls become extremely competitive and catty.

I read an article somewhere about how girls learn better in cooperative environments and boys learn better in competitive environments with lots of arguing-- but because most school systems function on a competitive level, girls have to overcompensate and become hypercompetitive not only scholastically but socially.

Once that problem has been solved, maybe women will stop trying to bring each other down.

  2. Exactly! Not long ago, someone had the nerve to come onto yahoo answers claiming how "kind" and "nonjudgmental" she was but how OTHER black women were catty, bitchy and confrontational.  Anyone see what was wrong with that picture?

Those constant attempts some women make at oneupmanship is what ultimately hurts ALL women be they feminist or not.  Seems some women are still fighting with other women for table scraps instead of wondering why they're being left out of the banquet in the first place?  Sad.

  3. Interesting point.

If you really want to add a spin, I think most everyone knows what it feels like to be excluded, yet still treat others in a similar fashion.

I don't know why we hurt others in this way.

  4. Wow! Thats interesting!

We should be giving out encouragement and support, but we decide to give hatred towards each other. I guess it's because we feel that they are competition, and they are trying to be better than you are.
