Question:

(Ladies please) Threading facial hair?

I'm so tired of having to pluck stray hairs every other day. I don't plan on having laser hair removal, and I'm not into waxing my face either; so I'm considering visiting the salon regularly from now on for threading treatment. However, I've been told that threading makes the hairs grow back thicker. Is this true?

I had eyebrow threading done before and it went well, but if hair does indeed grow back thicker, I wouldn't risk trying it on my upper lip... especially since I have dark hair.

Anyone with experience care to enlighten me?

Thanks!

  1. No threading does not make your hair grow thicker, in fact threading is absolutely healthy and risk free. Waxing and plucking are not good for the skin. Actually plucking makes your facial hair grow back thick and course.

  2. I have threaded my eyebrows twice, and waxed them twice to see the difference in quality. Threading does keep the hairs away for a longer time, and gives you a cleaner, crisper, 'new' look. The waxing isn't always as precise ( doesn't always grasp all the hairs) Threading is more painful than waxing, but getting it overwith on your first time, is a wise choice.. That way, any time you get your uperlip / eyebrows waxed, your skin would already be used to the pain, making it seem completely painless. Just upkeep your brows by plucking individul new grown hairs after waxing. Once your brows lose their defined shape, go for another threading visit .

SUMMARY : Go thread your eyebrows, it is a bit painful, but it has great results. Wax your uperlip.

  3. I love threading.  Its better then waxing and tweezing.  It doesnt make the hair grow back thicker, but I think it takes longer to grow back.  If you want to try it I know the perfect place you should go.

  4. no, it doesn't make the hair grow back thicker. So yes, you can thread your facial hair.
