I'm 23 weeks pregnancy and experience dizzies spells one right after another. They started last night around 10 pm I got about 5 of them, after I went to sleep I woke up twice to the bathroom and both times I got dizzy in the morning it happened about 3 times as I said before one right after another. After the dizziness pass I get a headache. I went to the doctor today and she said dizziness is a pregnancy signs but not one right after another like I have been having so she said it was a possible inner ear infection, this type of infection is so inside your ear that it can't be seen there is also no pain with it.Everything else check out fine My question is if any of you have experience this type of dizziness and what was it that your doctor told you might have?

Also want to had I get dizzy even when I'm laying down on my back I'm not moving or anything I'm just lying there

  2. I had a lot of dizziness but it was in my first trimester im only in my second now and I don't have it anymore

but becareful I hear of some women having fainting with there dizziness

  3. i have heard of getting dizzy when laying flat on your back before, something about getting less oxygen to the baby that way i believe.  its reccomended to lay on your left side i use pillows to keep me that way when i sleep, it s also important to drink lots of water so you dont get dehydrated which is a common reason for getting dizzy too.

  4. you get dizzy because you have all that extra blood and your baby is draining everything out of you.i had them around 20 weeks.if youre sitting try walking around and if youre standing up try to sit down.

  5. I have gotten dizzy a couple times and it was accompanied with blurred vision. I just found out I have developed anemia in my third trimester.

  6. Hello,

This is my 3rd pregnancy and the first time i have had dizzy spells. I got them early on in the 2nd trimester. My doc told me my baby is sitting on my vena cava which is the main artery that pumps blood back from the lower half of your body. Unfortunately it only goes away after giving birth. They are really intense dizzy spells and i often faint, get hot flushes, out of breath and feel sick. I am 38 weeks now and can only report that as the baby got bigger, the problem got worse....sorry.

However, in saying this, i am not suggesting that this is what you have. I am glad you have already spoken to your doc, perhaps you can ask them next time if this is what is happening to you too. Otherwise, i agree with the other posts, unfortunately this can just be a side effect of being pregnant.

  7. Your doctor is right that constant dizziness is not normal, even for pregnancy. It certainly sounds like an inner ear infection. Did she give you antibiotics? If you're still unsure about the diagnosis you can always get a second opinion.

Regular pregnancy dizzy spells are due to the change in blood volume and blood pressure fluctuations.

To help deal with the dizziness drink plenty of water, move very slowly when you change positions and make sure you eat small meals regularly. Also get plenty of rest as this will help your body to fight the infection.
