Lady Bayside to capitalise her racing proficiency at Chepstow in the Western Daily Press Handicap
The Class 5 Western Daily Press Handicap will be hosted by Chepstow over six furlongs and sixteen yards on Tuesday, 29th May. The race that carries the prize money of £2,264 has assembled the line-up of seventeen four-year and older runners.
The most profound at racing at Chepstow among all the contestants is Lady Bayside, Ishiguru’s four-year-old chestnut filly out of mare, Seldemosa. Five out of her six starts during the previous season were at Chepstow.
The Kellands Maiden Stakes on 20th June over a mile saw her finishing fourth as the race was won by Stage Attraction. The winner led the runner up of the race, Aerial Acclaim, by two lengths.
The 5/4 favourite of the race, Burj Hatta, ended third just before Lady Bayside.
The four-year-old then notched up to the second position during the very next attempt at Chepstow. She qualified as the runner up in the UHY Peacheys Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 29th June over seven furlongs.
The race was won by the evening’s favourite, Outsmart, who led Lady Bayside by 2 ¾ lengths.
The outcome of the Giles Insurance Brokers Bristol Handicap on 22nd July over seven furlongs witnessed Lady Bayside ending third. Abacist was the first one to race through the wire while the 5/2 favourite of the race, Red Marling, ended sixth.
After grueling three tries, the Tim Bostwick owned claimed the Hereford Land Rover Maiden Stakes on 4th August over seven furlongs. The victory was not effortless as the winner had the runner up of the race, Orpen’Arry, reeling in at a mere length’s distance.
The 6/4 favourite of the race, Dreams Of Dawn, ended fourth.
She lost the final outing of the season that was again at Chepstow.
Lady Bayside’s seasonal debut was in the CGA Racing Excellence Apprentice Handicap on 17th May at Salisbury over seven furlongs. The race was won by Ibiza Sunset while joining the winner the quickest was Cocohatchee.
Lady Bayside ended fourth while the 9/2 favourite, Dancing Welcome, slipped into the sixth slot.
Today she enjoys the competitive edge of gathering more experience than any other entry of racing at Chepstow. Lady Bayside should make the most out of the opportunity and reflect it through her performance today.
