Lady Cougars and Lake Dallas ready to clash in season fixture - Volleyball news
The Lady Cougars are preparing to play the Lake Dallas squad today, October 6. The match will be a part of the 4-4A volleyball season that is currently underway.
The match is going to be a rematch between the two teams as the first contest was lost by the Lady Cougars. The Lake Dallas squad is still going unbeaten in the season and the Lady Cogars are looking to change that.
The most recent match that the Lady Cougars have played was with the Lake Dallas team. The match between the two sides was held on Friday, the 13th of September. What followed was a four set long competition that rested in favour of the Lady Falcons
at the following final set scores: 25-18, 25-18, 24-26 and 25-19.
The coach of the Lady Cougars, Terri Harrod, made the following comments about the match that his team lost against the Lady Falcons: “It was a pretty good match for us. We seemed very comfortable out there and were in total control. Even in the set we lost,
we did a good job of coming from behind and nearly pulled it out. We just got behind a bit early because of some serving errors. But we corrected those and pulled it back together to finish well and put the match away. It was a good win because Little Elm
is an improving team.”
Tori Hawk was able to perform well for the Lady Cougars, similar to her performance in the match against the Lady Falcons. She was able to put up a total of 22 service receptions whereas her team-mate Jennifer Valenciano made her presence felt by pulling
in 16 of her own.
Harrod also added that the upcoming match is an important one for his team as the Lady Cougars are now improving their game and coming into form. The rematch against the Lake Dallas squad is going to provide them with the right opportunity to make their
mark this season. The coach has noted that the blocking of the Lady Cougars has shown tremendous improvement and with such a well placed defence and relentless attack, the Lady Cougars are all set to give any team a run for their money.
