Lady On The Run likely to prevail in the Fleet Indian Stakes at Saratoga
The John Morrison trained, Lady On The Run, is looking to make a strong comeback in the Fleet Indian Stakes at Saratoga on 1st
August, 2012, to be run over a distance of seven furlongs.
After securing the second place twice, the daughter of Ten Most Wanted toned up for the Arctic Queen Handicap, and landed the victory over Karma Police, over the course of six furlongs on 21st July, 2012.
The trainer stated that this race served as a work-out to prepare for her bigger races, which she completed in 1 minute and 11.45 seconds.
Regarding this, the handler commented:
“I ran her back twice in May, and it took her a little bit of time to rebound from that second race,” Morrison remarked. “I kind of used the Arctic Queen as basically being her last work to set us up for Saratoga.”
On 4th  May, 2012, the four-year-old ran in the Put The Powder To It Stakes at Belmont Park, where she lost the victory to, Risky Rachel, over 6 ½ furlongs.

On 20th May, she ran in the 1 mile Key Cents Stakes at the same track, and finished second to Opus A.
Opus A and Lady On The Run will go at it again in the Fleet Indian Stakes, but this time Lady On The Run is determined to stay on top and keep everyone else at bay.
The New York bred filly seems to adapt to different distances. She has won at seven furlongs when she competed in the New York Stallion Staten Island and defeated, Saltamontes.
Primarily, a dirt runner, all the factors seem to be working in the filly’s favour.
Regarding the race strategy, the trainer commented:
“As long as we have contested pace, we’re going to be fine.”
The Jeffrey Tucked owned filly will be mounted by jockey Michael Luzzi in this race. Her form is improving and everything seems to be in order with her. She has an overall record of 5-6-2 out of 15 starts, and career earnings worth $275,850.
Foaled by Colonial Affair mare Royal Relic, she is making quick progress and collecting wins, here, there and everywhere.
