Lady Phill to emerge triumphant from the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot
The Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes will be hosted at Ascot on 20th June, 2012, where 27 runners will aim to take home the purse of £42,533, over the course of five furlongs on a surface that has been labelled good.
Many talented runners are part of this line-up, but Hairy Rocket and Lady Phill are the two that are under-rated, but are immensely talented.
Hairy Rocket, daughter of Pivotal, out of mare Asaawir, has demonstrated her skill in her two starts, which were extremely impressive. Given more time, she will definitely improve, but she already has what it takes to win.
Trained by Richard Hannon, the bay filly ran under rider, Ryan Moore, in the Mirror Punters Club Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Windsor on 14th May, 2012, where she covered the distance of five furlongs briskly and comfortably.
The soft surface of the track was not a problem for the young runner, and she was able to conquer it easily.
This experience will definitely come in handy, since prior experience on a similar track works well in favour of the runners.
The Bill Turner trained, Lady Phill, will definitely be an obstacle in Hairy Rocket’s way, since she has accumulated more experience than her rival - having competed in four starts.
The daughter of Avonbridge, out of mare Lady Filly, is currently on a hat-trick, which she will aim to complete in this race.
The first victory of her career took place at Lingfield, when she competed over a distance of five furlongs in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes on 11th May,
2012.
The surface of the track was labelled standard, and it helped Lady Phill and rider, Ryan While to land the race, 2 ¼ lengths ahead of, Sutton Sid.
The two-year-old filly maintained her composure in the Luck Greayer Bloodstock Shipping Fillies' Conditions Stakes at Newbury on 18th May, 2012, where she defeated, Jillnextdoor, by half-length over the same distance.
It looks like the victory already belongs to the Mrs. M.S. Teversham owned Lady Phill, the familiar distance and more experience will play to her strengths.
