The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 international does not accept his president’s judgement of the national side, and explained what is needed to have a winning team.
Bayern Munich and Germany captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philipp-Lahm-c29929 dismissed the recent comments made by the Bavarian giants’ chief Uli Hoeness about the Die Mannschaft side. He had earlier stated that the national team was not up to the mark in their
2012 European Championships campaign, even though they reached the semi-finals.
Die Nationalelf had a perfect record in the group stage and beat Greece comprehensively in the quarter-final. The supremo criticised the overall accomplishments of the team during the Euro 2012.
However, Lahm conceded that Hoeness’ criticism was unfair to his side and said he cannot digest this statement. The defender revealed that they won all their matches prior to the semi-final defeat by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926, and beat some great
teams such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884.
"Our national team was not good during the entire Euro campaign," he added.
Der FCB skipper maintained that winning against such teams is very hard and they were not credited enough. Therefore, the president has no clue of what he is talking about.
"I cannot accept this judgement. We have won four matches and beaten http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908 in the quarter-finals. We all know how important it is to get results. I cannot accept this statement made by Uli Hoeness," he stated.
The experienced full-back further added the things needed from his side to become a top team. He claimed that everyone in the squad has to improve and was pleased with their performance against the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Republic-of-Ireland-c2987. He said
the players need to get better with time.
"We have to focus on rebuilding a better team, which we have started against [The Republic of] Ireland. We are working on that every day. The basis is a good defensive organisation and creativity going forward," he explained.
Lahm maintained that a good and organised defence is very important and will support them on the attacking front. Germany drew 4-4 with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 in their World Cup qualifying game. The national side were leading 4-0 but could not
finish off the important clash.
