The Bavarian skipper claimed that he had grown up seeing Bayern and it was a dream come true when he joined the club.

Lahm claimed that Bayern had signed him when he played for his hometown team Gern at a very young age. The defender admitted that he has learned a lot from the club and is grateful to all his coaches who have helped him reach this
level.
“I have been at FC Bayern since I was 11 years old, a talent scout saw me when I played for my hometown team, Gern,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The German international added that it was always his dream to play for a club like Bayern Munich and for the national team. He insisted that he had grown up seeing the likes of Franz Beckenbauer, Lothar Matthaus and Oliver Kahn
and wanted to be part of the club that they played for.
