The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 captain expressed his disappointment after Mannschaft’s starting line-up was revealed in the news hours before the quarter-final.
Germany comfortably reached the quarter-finals of the 2012 European Championships, their route to the last eight was not as easy their results might have suggested. The Mannschaft picked up maximum points from their three group
games, which included victories against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884.
Topping the Group B meant they would play runners up from the Group A, which would have been either http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908. The Ethniki sprung a surprise booked their place in the last eight.
The quarter-final was expected to be a one sided encounter, so Joachim Low made a few changes to his side in order to rest a few tired legs and give the talented squad players a chance.
Hours before the match the Germany head coach revealed it to his players that he will be resting Mario Gomez, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miroslav-Klose-c26049 and Andre Schurrle. Within
hours of breaking the news to his players, DFB eleven’s probable starting line-up was published in a German newspaper.
The Bayern Munich man revealed he was disappointed when he found out that someone from the squad passed on the starting line up. He insists the players should be careful of who they pass the line up to, whether they are playing
or not.
The Germany skipper was strictly against giving squad details to agents, he believed only the immediate family of the player should be informed about the line up.
“We must be extra careful now. Whether someone plays or they do not play, it is out of the question to pass the line-up to advisors. Exchanges with closest family are understandable, but that is it,”
He further states that it is a big disgrace to leak the line-up so early. He reckons the one who disclosed the squad information to the press, does not want the Mannschaft to do well, because he is letting the whole nation down.
“The whole nation is behind us so it’s a disgrace for the line-up to be in the public eye so early. The one with the problem is the guy who has done this because he is damaging the hopes of the entire nation,”
The German captain should not be too worried about this problem because his side hammered the Greeks convincingly. Whether the opponents know about the line up or not, it will be hard for any team to match the Nationalelf, because
the momentum is with them.
