Faysal Bank T20 Cup - First Innings Recap
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sialkot-c842 Stallions restricted Lahore Lions to a modest total in a Faysal Bank T20 match played at National Stadium Karachi, on September 27, 2011.
Stallions bowled with great heart to dislodge a strong batting unit of Lahore for 121 in 19.4 overs. Naved-ul-Hasan was the pick of the bowlers and took three wickets while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Raza-Hasan-c84407 and Sarfraz Ahmed chipped in
with two wickets a piece.
Lions' skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdul-Razzaq-c41623, was the leading run scorer from his side. The personified all-rounder played a scintillating knock of 42 runs from 33 deliveries which included four fours and one six.
Razzaq however, did not get much support from the rest of the batting brigade as most batsmen failed to get double figures. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ahmed-Shehzad-c42359 got off to good starts but could not convert them into big ones. The duo
contributed 24 and 22 runs respectively.
Shehzad opened the innings for Lahore and was accompanied by wicket-keeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kamran-Akmal-c70122. Lahore started off aggressively as Shehzad smashed a couple of boundaries in the first two overs.
Kamran, who was dropped from Pakistan’s national team after a dismal performance in the 2011 World Cup, did not help his cause for a comeback as the wicket-keeper got out cheaply in the third over.
Kamran tried to smack Ahmed out of the park but all he was able to do was find http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Naved-Arif-c78891 in the field. The fielder did not hesitate and took the catch cleanly, bringing an end to Kamran’s innings. Umar Akmal, Kamran’s younger
brother, then came out to bat at number three.
Shehzad was the next man to be dismissed. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sarfraz-Ahmed-c88818 was once again the claimant. Shehzad could not stop himself from playing rash strokes and thus it cost him his wicket. The batsman was caught in the deep by Naved-ul-Hasan.
The Next wicket came as a result of a mix-up between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Razzaq-c84421. Umar was the one who had to take the long walk back after scoring 10 runs.
Razzaq took charge of things afterwards, and along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jamshed-c66276, put on 59 runs for the fourth wicket. Naved-ul-Hasan was finally able to break their on-field romance as the bowler dislodged both batsmen on successive deliveries
of the 17th over.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sohail-c90628 Ahmed (4).
Sialkot got rid of the tail quickly as the last three wickets fell for just nine runs.
Stallions required 122 runs to claim the match, and with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-Nazir-c64248, the target was achievable.
