  1. i wouldnt     i would use cheap ro water from the store

  2. no because lake water has nasty little animals (you can't see them) that will grow all over your take and make it ugly and gross i had a friend that did this once and he ruined his tank...........i hope this helps

  3. No, you shouldn't use lake water.  One answer mentioned that you will get all sorts of stuff with the water.  This is true.  And if you do use tap water make sure that you treat it prior to use.  There are all sorts of things in tap water (chlorine, fluoride, etc.), that need to be removed prior to pouring it in your tank.

  4. Lake water has all kinds of parasites & bacteria that tap water doesn't. Your best bet is to use tap water & use Auquasafe (by Tetra) to remove the chlorine, or some other chlorine remover

  5. No lake water could be dirty.

  6. why would you even ask this question, did you water get turned off or something? Just dont use lake water, just tap

  7. no. since lake water has high ammonia nitrites and nitrates and itll easly kill your fish due to ammonia poisonning. also you can use your home tapwater with a water conditioner like tetra aquasafe.
