  1. What up SteveYao,

Losing Turiaf hurt, but the Lakers could not afford him for $8.5 million- that would kill them down the road- when they have to re-sign Bynum, etc.

One thing to remember is that June (the NBA finals and winning the title is all that really counts).  The Lakers most tradeable commidity is Lamar Odom- but the issue is how healthy does Bynum return and trading Lamar (say for Artest) could hurt the Lakers (esp. on the boards) if Bynum is not healthy.  Also if the Lakers have to take on a bad contract like Kenny Thomas' they are better not doing a trade like that.

Lamar's $14+ million comes off the book at the end of the year- which means that come trade deadline time- Lamar is very attractive because of an expiring contract that can give other teams cap-space but moreover- teams that may be out of contention may be more willing to deal.

Luke being hurt is a blessing in disguise- it means more playing time for Ariza.  With Ariza and Bynum back we need some time to see the Laker chemistry and health.  They need to re-sign Sasha and i also hear they may bring Sun Yue from China over- and are exploring a couple of possibilities like Kurt Thomas.

Minor tweaks for now- and the important thing is we are defensively ready this year come June (playoffs time).  i honestly believe the Lakers are a good enough road team they don't need to be the #1 seed to come out of the West.

  2. I live in norcal, so I'm a Kings fan, but I guess the Lakers are doing what they feel is what they need to do.

  3. Trade Odom for Marion!

  4. Ever heard of salary cap?

  5. um so you do know that the lakers are in lux tax area right? which is why they made no attempts to re-sign turiaf and might not re-sign sasha if he leaves. sure artest would help a ton, but why would sac want to help their hated rivals get better and win a title? so thats why the artest/odom trade has not happened and it might not ever happen. honestly the lakers dont need to do anything. theyre already a good enough team without sasha and ronny. once bynum comes back, the lakers will really be deadly because it shifts gasol back to his normal position at PF. kobe will be as pissed as ever and they will look to win it all.

  6. Lakers are FINE. They should not go for Artest. They got to teh finasl with just a line up of Gasol Kobe odom and Fisher.  They cannot just add a "tougher" Guy and lose the guy that helped lead them to the finals and expect to do good the next year.  Return of bynum is good enough, they need no moves at all.

  7. The Lakers should get Josh Smith and they should Re-sign Sasha Vujacic.

  8. I realized something a few weeks ago when i was straightened out the Lakers were TWO WINS! away from a championship. Not to mention bynum is coming back next year, and the lakers will prove to the NBA nation that unlike some teams cough... *cuntecs* .... that they don't have to buy their talent to win a championship.

  9. We need Marion or Artest

  10. Re-Sign Vujacic, and get Marion

  11. actually we dont need to do too much. We need to resign sasha vujucic. Rememebr Bynum will be healthy next year. The only logical thing i see them doing is going after Artest, thats it.

  12. phil is making them watch a revenge movie. the revenge of the nerds.

  13. Dude there is a thing called a salary cap you just can't sign anyone you want.  The Lakers are over that and then some, paying the league about 5 million in luxury tax this year just to keep its current roster.
