Lakers (with the return of buynum) vs rockets (with the add of artest)? or the hornets

who do you think is gonna be the western champs?

This is a hard one. I would go with the Lakers though, look what they almost did this past year with Bynum injured. The Rockets will be right up there with them too though.

The Rockets won 22 last year 10 without Yao now u add more defense and a good scorer in Artest.

Bynum gonna help da laker but not like last yer because they got another big man in gasol so they laker aint goona change much

then the rockets beat the laker with out Yao so even if Bynum plays he aint no were near yao ming.

so yea da Rockets gonna take off this year

I would have to say the Lakers right now. The Rockets haven't proved anything yet, the Hornets still need another player, and the defending Western Champions will only get better with the addition of up and coming center Andrew Bynum. Theyre my pick to win it all in 2009.

I would say the Rockets even though I'm a Lakers fan because Artest, T-Mac, and Yao will be unstoppable. Maybe in the 2nd seed under Hornets and Lakers in 3rd seed.

Rockets will be champs with the addition of artest there defense is gonna be so good last season they were 55-27 so its gonna take alot to beat them this year last season most of there winning streak was without yao so with him coming back they could win it all that's if everyone stays healthy

first of all, do you know how to spell? BYNUM.. second, it doesn't matter who will win the west, i think the celtics can still defend their title. but any way, i found out that there are so many laker fans here who are rating the thumbs up when it comes to the lakers and rating the thumbs down when it comes to the rockets and hornets.. rockets will be the 2008-09 champs

Its tough to say, im a Lakers fan and I honestly believe if they had Bynum in the finals that they would have won it.  Gasol played HORRIBLE defense.  I dont believe in the hornets just yet.  The Rockets could make some noise.  Pretty much, it just comes down to injuries.  The best team doesnt always win.  Ask the Patriots!

Bynum is better and has much more up-side than Posey and Artest.

Lakers-They have Kobe Bryant,who is being a better play maker.

they have Bynum coming back,so he can guard the tougher post player and Pau can guard the lesser post player.Fisher is always a good defensive presence.Jordan Farmar is a star in the works.

Rockets-They have scoring PG's in Aaron Brooks and Rafer Alston.

They have T-Mac at the SG,and he is a great scorer when healthy.

They have Artest AND Battier,they are both very good scorers and defenders.Their PF is above average,with Scola and Chuck Hayes as energy players.Yao Ming,Joey Dorsey.Yao is a great scorer and Dorsey,if he can behave himself,will become a great defender.

Hornets-Chris Paul is a future MVP.Mo Pete and James Posey are great clutch shooters and Posey is a lock down defender.Peja s a very underrate shooter.Davis West is an underrated scorer.Chandler is a great leaper and rebounder.

You decide.I think the Rockets will prevail.
