Lamar Odom On The Hawks????

Question

I keep hearing rumors about this.

As a Hawks fan, i'm frustrated things are going absolutley no where with the re-signing Josh Smith.

So I heard that the Lakers might trade Odom to the Hawks for Smith.

Would Odom fit with the Hawks??

And would he be a good replacement for Smith??

if josh smith gets traded to the lakers it would be a good trade for the lakers but not for the hawks..well i dont think he will be a good replacement for smith

I think Hawks fan will probably not be happy for anyone available for Josh Smith.  Part of it is Josh's youth and athleticism.  There are a lot of players that can match Josh in terms of numbers, and even a hand-full who are more adept offensively- but Josh is both efficient, offensively and defensively.

Salary wise an Odom for Smith deal works.  And moreover- Odom is an expiring contract- meaning that if Odom doesn't work out for the Hawks they have $14 million to spend on another free agent.  

Odom played some of his best basketball in the East while a member of the Miami Heat-- and if he played like that the Hawks would love him.  Odom's always been about having "All-star" like potential but has never consistently lived up to it- that's the key thing with Odom- which Odom shows up.

The question really is if Josh Smith continues to refuse to be signed- then the Hawks would rather get something than nothing for him- and Odom is more than just a nothing- he really is a good player- just don't know if he can handle being one of the main men- which is what the Hawks would be asking him to do- be the #2 to Joe Johnson- that's not as daunting as being the #2 to Kobe Bryant...  but all things considered-- if the Hawks had to trade Josh Smith- Lamar Odom is a pretty decent deal to go after.

i think the hawks would loose a lot of deffense but Lamar is great. we as Laker fans love him but we dont mind josh smith either , Josh Smith will help the Lakers more. sorry to say to ya

That would rip off the Hawks as J smooth is defensive offensive and he isn't soft like odom. Odom is old and JOsh is young so the Hawks lose young talent actually there best player too so I don't think it will happen.

I doubt the Lakers are going to trade Odom due to the success thier having...plus, their adding Bynum who has showed flashes of greatness at times.

I don't think the Hawks will do it.Lamar Odom is great but Josh Smith is severely underrated.But Josh Smith apparently is not happy with Joe Johnson constantly overshadowing him(not kidding and not a cheap shot to Josh)and the Hawks.

It doesn't depend on the Hawks,Lakers or Odom.It's all on Josh Smith.If he continues to demand a trade,then the Hawks will,but probably not for Lamar Odom.

this will be a equal trade for both sides because when you trade lamar odom you will lose the versatility but having smith is a big plus but that will not still solve their problem of not having a consistent shooter to spread the floor...

the hawks is having the upper side of the trade because they have a better slasher a better rebounder and having one of the most versatile player in the league today but still the hawks will lose the defensive prowess that smith has..

i think the lakers will benefit from the trade smith going to that SF position SG Kobe PG Fisher PF Gasol C Bynum Go Lakers but the point is this is a trade like Gasol To the Lakers for who Kwame (who the h**l is that Thx michael Jordan ) Odom plus walton for smith thats gonna work for the hawks
