Lamb help!!!?

Im getting a baby lamb and i know nothing about. what does a lamb eat? umm....

HELP!!!!!!!!!!please

  1. I'm assuming it's weaned from mom and not a bottle baby?  If so, you should feed it hay (alfalfa or grass), and grain while it is growing (they have special grain mixes for lambs, or 4-way works, too).  Once it's full-sized it should need only some hay to supplement any grazing.  

    I will give you the following tip as well: If this is a ram lamb, don't get too friendly with it or handle it much.  Once it's an adult, it will see you as part of the flock, and you'll get either mounted repeatedly or head-butted, and sheep are fairly strong animals and can really hurt you that way.  If it is castrated at a young age, it may be OK with you later on, but I have heard of whethers developing the behavior as well, so better safe than sorry.  Females can be handled and kept as pets without an issue.
