Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert was delighted by the 2-0 home victory against Swansea City and thanked the Villa faithful for their ‘brilliant’ support.

Many had tipped Swansea to be the favourites going into the game, and believed that the Swan’s attacking football would be too much for Villa.
The club has not enjoyed any sort of form at home in the past 10 months. Yesterday’s victory against Swansea only marks the fifth home win in ten months, but the manager was not concerned and believed it was just what his side needed to get their momentum
running.
Villa cruise to victory, and finally demonstrated the attacking prowess that Lambert has asked for weeks ago. The team dominated in midfield and caused problems for Swansea all day.

“They were brilliant,” beamed Lambert. “You can’t hear yourself shout when they get going.
“You need that. They will be more than happy. It’s a brilliant club, great fans and great history, huge.”
Lambert then went on to praise his side’s collective effort and added:
“We thoroughly deserved it against a really good side which has been flying. I thought we were well-worthy of it. I think we try and get lads to buy into what we’re trying to do.”
“I have nothing but praise for the lads. We have a lot of tired legs because we had a lot of lads on international duty. It was a big, big effort.”
