Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has hailed Belgian striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 last night in the Premier League.
The Clarets travelled to Anfield to face a Liverpool team that has significantly improved its form over the past few games. Aston Villa are now at 14th spot on the league table, with Liverpool two places ahead of them at 12th.
Manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert was delighted to see his team manage an impressive 1-3 win at Anfield and hailed the qualities of star striker Christian Benteke, who was instrumental in the win last night.
Prior to the game, Liverpool had been on a good run of games, losing only once in their previous 11 Premier League fixtures. Villa were close to the drop zone, and faced a potential relegation battle if they kept up their mixed form. However, Villa shocked
everyone when they emerged as victors last night by scoring 3 goals against the Reds.
After the game, everyone was quick to praise Benteke, who scored twice and set one up for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358 as the club’s first choice striker, and is quickly making quite a name for him.
Manager Paul Lambert was quick to praise Benteke. Speaking to the club’s official website, he said:
“I have seen that sort of thing all along. You run out of things to say about the big guy. He’s unbelievable. He’s 22 and he can be anything he wants. He’s a top lad too which is important. His partnerships – whether it’s with Andy, Darren, Gabby – it seems
everyone likes playing alongside him. He’s been sensational for us.”
“There aren’t many can push him off the ball that’s for sure. He’s got the potential to be one of the best. I don’t want to put too much pressure on him but the potential for someone as young as that is absolutely frightening.”
The manager then praised Benteke’s strike partner Weimann, and called him a natural striker. The player pairs up front with Benteke, and both have proved to be Aston Villa’s primary attacking duo.
Lambert will be hoping both players will keep up their form in the coming games as Aston Villa prepare for a busy and festive December.
