The Villans boss has expressed confidence that his side will climb out of the relegation zone, while revealing that the experience of remaining in the hunt for English top flight survival has been horrible thus far.
Aston Villa head coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert, has expressed optimism regarding his side’s chances of prolonging their stay in the English Premier League.
The Villans are currently sitting 19th in the league standings, three points adrift of the safety zone after claiming only 21 points from a possible of 75. In addition, their poor performances have not only been restricted to the English top flight,
as they have also been knocked out of both FA Cup and Capital One Cup.
Nonetheless, the 43-year-old has expressed confidence that he will guide his side out of the relegation zone before the end of the ongoing season, though, he has admitted that the survival hunt’s experience has been extremely horrible.
“It is horrible. We're in a fight and we have to drive ourselves out of it. We had a chat the other day and they know what they have to do. The effort they are giving is there in abundance. I believe they can do it and they do themselves. We spoke about
things and they've been pretty positive”, Lambert was quoted as saying to Birmingham Mail.
Villa have failed to claim a victory since their 1-3 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 at Anfield on December 15, losing five while claiming a point in the remaining three.
There has been a lot of criticism over the Villans performances in the last few weeks, and the Scottish mentor has insisted that victory wipes off all the poor performances.
“Winning covers a multitude of sins; it always does, and if you play poor and win, you'd take it. You'd settle for that, playing poor and winning. I know you are in the entertainment business but sometimes that doesn't get you anywhere. If you win, everyone
goes away happy”, Lambert concluded.
Aston Villa will lock horns against West Ham United, who are currently placed 11th on the league table, in their upcoming Premier League encounter at Villa Park on Sunday, February 10.
