Norwich City boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 McLeish.
Lambert has enjoyed stupendous success with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723 since assuming the reins of the club in 2009. He steered them to successive promotions from the third tier into the first, for the first time in 11 years, after Manchester City achieved the same feat
in 2000.
McLeish on the other hand has suffered a beleaguered Premier League campaign this season. His side are currently placed 15th in the league table and are only three points clear of the relegation zone, with just three more games to play. On Tuesday,
the Villans lost 2-1 at home to Bolton Wanderers to create an uneasy atmosphere at the Birmingham club, as they will now have to battle it out to stave off a possible relegation threat.
Villa’s unimpressive season has given air to speculations that the club may do-away with McLeish, with Lambert likely to succeed him for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684. However, the latter turned down all the reports linking him to Villa, and thought that McLeish was doing a good
job at the club.
While talking to reporters, he said: “It is extremely unfair with me being linked with Aston Villa when they have got a really good manager up there who is doing everything he can to stay in the league. It is an unfair comment for me to say anything on that.”
Norwich have got 43 points from their 35 games and find themselves level on points with 12th placed Swansea City. They can finish in the top half of the table, by achieving maximum points out of their last three games.
The Canaries will square off against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 on Saturday at the Carrow Road, and a win will tie them on points with the Reds.
However, the Norwich boss felt that his side faces a daunting task of beating Kenny Dalglish’s team, as they have done remarkably well this season in the domestic cup competitions.
He remained optimistic that his players will lift their game against the English giants, in order to secure a result against them.
“It will be extremely hard,” he continued. “I don’t need to lift them because the game itself will lift them… The fan base is huge, Kenny [Dalglish] is a massive presence and they are still a fantastic side. I don’t think anybody should underestimate that.”
Norwich will play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 at the Emirates stadium after their game against Liverpool, and will play host to Villa on the 13th of May in their final game of the season.
