Norwich City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert refused to be drawn into the discussion of his future at the Carrow Road, and also remained silent over the subject of Grant Holt’s transfer request.
The former Borussia Dortmund player has been linked to the management http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Aston Villa, following the Villans dismal 2011/12 Premier League campaign which saw them finish at the 16th place in the table.
In sharp contrast with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Canaries-c38723 took everyone by the storm upon their return to the top division, grabbing the 12th spot in the final standings.
And since taking over the management of then third-tier Norwich in August 2009, the Scott propelled the Canaries to back-to-back promotions; a feat previously achieved by Manchester City eleven years ago.
With Norwich subsequently managing to maintain their stay in the Premier League, the 42-year old manager has reportedly drawn interest from Villa, with some rumours also linking him to the management post at Anfield.
However Lambert, who oversaw his side’s 2-0 victory against the Scottish league champions Celtic on Tuesday in Adam Drury’s testimonial, refused to comment on the speculations of his move after the game.
He told the reporters, “There is no point asking me. I am telling you I am not answering it. I know what is going on but this is Adam's game.”
With reporters also hurling questions at the Scott about Holt’s future, whose transfer request was rejected by the club earlier, Lambert responded by saying “This isn't the night for those questions. Don't ask me negative things about me or Grant.”
The match, which was played at the Carrow Road, was organized to acknowledge Drury’s services for Norwich, who has represented the Canaries in 328 matches in all competitions over a period of eleven years.
And even though the English International faces an uncertain future over his possible destination next season, the Canaries boss heaped praise on the 33-year old defender and believed that the electric atmosphere in the stadium was a fitting tribute to the
player who has rendered meritorious services for the club.
He remarked, “Tonight was fitting for somebody who has been here for 11 years, and to get Celtic down here with their fans certainly makes for an atmosphere. In the three years I have been here, Adam has been brilliant”
The Scott also revealed that he has had a great time with Norwich over the last three years, and vented his frustration at the media for hoaxing rumours and speculations liking him to different clubs in the Premier League.
