Aston Villa manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Tottenham 8-0 and 0-4 respectively, and insists that he enjoys a healthy relationship with the club’s owner and administration.
The Clarets suffered two very heavy and embarrassing defeats in the league in the space of 4 days. They first travelled to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea last week and ended up losing in embarrassing fashion as the Blues scored 8 goals against a helpless
and battered Villa side.
They then hosted Tottenham on Boxing Day, and ended up losing to Spurs in a 0-4 score line in front of their home crowd. The visitors scored 4 goals in the second half, and Villa looked shocked and had no answer for Tottenham.
Manager Paul Lambert was clearly distraught after the final whistle, but the Villa fans continued to sing his name despite the score line. The Scot also received praise from his managerial counterpart Andre Villas-Boas, who believes that Lambert remains
the perfect man for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 at Villa Park.
Villa are currently 16th on the league table, and are only 3 points adrift of the relegation zone. This paints a worrying picture for the club and the manager, but Lambert insists that he enjoys a healthy relationship with owner Randy Lerner and
speaks to him every week, and is not worried about his job.
Lambert also praised the fans and said:
“They are fantastic with the way they have supported us. I think they can see what we are trying to do and they were terrific again. It was really pleasing to hear them back us, but we know we have to get results.”
The manager then went on to speak about the team, and insisted that they share the responsibility of the defeat as a collective whole. He added:
“They will go again and give us everything. Even though people got carried away before about us beating Norwich and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, I never did and neither did the team. We never let them get too high or too low, because the nature of football is that you can
get hurt at any moment.”
“We are in this together, and collectively we have to stop this."
