I am installing laminate flooring in my basement. I did not measure correctly and my final row is going to be about 1.5 in wide. The manufacture says not less than 2 in. Why 2 in.? The last row will never be walked on since it will mostly be under the trim.

  1. if using a wet saw u should be fine cutting pieces that small....couldn't make a cut that small on a hand type tile cutter....maybe that's what they were talking about

  2. THATS ONLY THERE SO ONE DOES'NT HAVE BREAKAGE DUE TO WEIGHT OF SAY, A TABLE OR SIMULAR OBJECTS THAT MIGHT CAUSE STRAIN ON THAT PART OF THE FLOOR. YOU WILL BE FINE WITH 1.5" .

  3. I would do it.  I have had to cut down flooring to 1 inch wide.  It to was under the trim.  I had no problems.
