I am Installng laminate in my bathroom the only problem is i don't know how to finish at the tub do you use quater rnd or some type of vinyl base or just use caulk, i don't know how all of this will work because you have to have a 1/4" gap around edges for expansion, plus if i used quarter round i can't nail through the tub, Help!!!!

  1. you just use caulk thats how they did my bath room

  2. You can caulk it and  install a laminate wall base over it. Just attache it with (Loctite Power Grab™ Tub Surround Construction Adhesive), I've used it and it works great.

  3. the quarter round will not provide the kind of seal that you need near a bathtub. better to use caulking so that you will not get water at the edges of your laminate. possilby you could place the quarter round over the cauking but you would then need to modify the quarter round a little so that it would allow for expansion and still fit.

  4. My bathroom has caulk...I would say go with what you think looks best. For sure you will want atleast some caulk to seal it off from the water.
