Lamon Brewster reckons Tomasz Adamek had a wrong fight plan against Vitali Klitschko – Boxing news
Former World Boxing Organisation heavyweight champion, Lamon Brewster, who on April 10, 2004 shockingly knocked out Wladimir Klitschko to win the vacant WBO Heavyweight Championship, reckons Tomasz ‘Tomek’ Adamek had the wrong fight plan against Vitali Klitschko.
Tomasz Adamek, who is the former WBC world light heavyweight champion and the former IBF, IBO and The Ring magazine cruiserweight champion, was stopped by Vitali ‘Dr. Ironfist’ Klitschko in the 10th round in Wroclaw recently.
Throughout the fight, Adamek looked rattled by the power of the 6 ft 8” Ukrainian giant, Klitschko, as he did not make much impact on his opponent before finally being technically knocked out in the 10th round.
Brewster told the media Adamek went in there with a plan to outthink Vitali which was wrong. Though Brewster stated Adamek fought Vitali bravely, he stated Vitali and Adamek had a lot of difference in their size and therefore, Adamek should have been even
braver.
Brewster believes there is only one way to beat the current World Boxing Council world heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko, and that is a good left hook.
“Adamek is neither big enough nor strong enough. I don’t think that he punches hard. He had the wrong fight plan for this fight: you can’t plan on out-boxing a boxer. In order to compensate for the size difference, one needs more bravery. I am not implying
that Adamek was not brave; he just had the wrong strategy. Vitali is a tremendous athlete. How can you plan on out-boxing a boxer from such distance, if you are so much smaller? That’s impossible,” Brewster told bleacherreport.com.
“I think a good boxer with a good left hook should be able to get the job done.”
The 40-year-old Vitali holds an incredible record of winning 43 of his 45 professional fights, with 40 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. Vitali has never lost on decision as his only two losses have come because of a shoulder injury and a deep
cut above his eye.
