Question:

Lamp repair?

I recently broke my mother's favorite lamp while cleaning and was wondering if it can be repaired. It is a bell shape with an opening at the top and one at the bottom to slide a bulb into. It is made out of small pieces of red glass held together by moarter. The damage is mainly at the bottom where alot of the glass is missing, but has cracks through out that are not readily visible but can be felt.

  1. It sounds to me like the lamp is not held together with mortar, but more likely lead. Find a glass shop in your area that specializes in stained glass repairs, and they should be able to make the repairs you need.

  2. i think you should tell the truth,

there might not be a way to repair it, and it sounds old, so maybe you could use your ownmoney to buy a new lamp

  3. It can be repaired but will never be the same unless you can find a similar lamp for parts.

There are all sorts of glues and repair parts for lamps at your local hardware store.
