Lancashire re-sign Ashwell Prince for the 2012 season - Cricket News Update
The Lancashire County Cricket Club has re-signed the South Africa batsman Ashwell Prince as their main overseas player for a third time.
The 34-year-old left-handed batsman, who had successful spell with the county in 2009 and 2010, will represent them in the LV= County Championship, as well as the one-day competition, Clydesdale Bank 40 tournament this summer.

"Ashwell is a world-class batsman who has a wealth of experience and talent," said the Lancashire director of cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Watkinson-c76240. "He will bring additional quality to the top order and will have a positive influence on the squad,"
he added further.
The 34-year-old left-hander was dropped from the South African Test side in the middle of their home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, starting on March 7.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 between July and September but the top order batsman opted for a county stint as he is not sure about a national call up.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AG-Prince-c949 was excited to rejoin the county for a third season and hoped to emulate his past performances.
"I am delighted to be returning to Lancashire for the 2012 season," said Prince after signing the deal with the Lancashire CCC. "I love the place and how the lads go about their work. I'm really looking forward to joining up with the
squad in early April and contributing to a successful campaign," he added further.
The South African has more than 12,000 first-class runs under his belt at an impressive average of 43.68. This tally includes 31 centuries and 62 half centuries. He has played 66 Tests for the Proteas compiling 3665 runs at an average
of 41.64, including 11 centuries and an equal number of half centuries.
The Lancashire head coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Moores-c81848 was also excited at the signing.
"It is fantastic news that Ashwell has rejoined the club," Moores said. "He is a tough competitor who has enjoyed success here before and he will bring some maturity to an emerging squad."
