On Monday, Lancashire once again exhibited their dominance in English county cricket as they nabbed an exciting win by eight wickets ahttp://www.senore.com/Cricket/Durham-c782, in the only Friends Life T20 match of the day, at Old Trafford, Manchester.
After losing the toss, Lancashire were made to field first as Durham amassed a total of 121 runs in 19.2 overs, after they faced some fine bowling from Lancashire.
G Keedy and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yasir-Arafat-c98241 were the most prized bowlers from Lancashire as they grabbed four and three wickets to restrict the batting side from amassing a massive total on the board.
Needing 122 runs to win the match in 20 overs, Lancashire began their run chase with SC http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Moore-c77694 and TC Smith coming out as openers.
The basic idea was for the two openers to get maximum runs and make the run chase easy for the batsmen later to come.
However, the opening partnership nurtured only 13 runs, before Moore was caught by Myburgh, off the bowling of ME Claydon, after he had bolstered an innings of eight runs off five deliveries.
After grabbing an early breakthrough, Durham looked well set to give Lancashire a tough time; however, this was easier said than done, as a team like Lancashire was not going to feel the heat on losing their first wicket without much on the board.

The duo was phenomenal as not only did it make the bowlers bleed but also maintained pace in the innings, not to let the run rate increase.
Durham desperately needed to break this partnership as the match was fast slipping out of their hands.
Pacers like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LE-Plunkett-c1833, BA Stokes and GR Breese were neutralized by Lancashire as they failed to get a single wicket in the match.
Finally with a massive tally of 116 runs and with the work half done, Lancashire lost their second wicket with Smith falling after an innings of 40 runs.
Meanwhile, Croft stayed unbeaten on a knock of 65 runs as he saw his team win the match in 14 overs. He was also named as the Player of the Match.
