The Unicorns captain http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Keith-Alan-Parsons-c70573 won the toss and opted to bat first. There was not much assistance for the fast bowlers in the pitch, but Pakistan’s Junaid Khan destroyed the opposition with a fabulous bowling spell. The promising youngster picked up
four wickets in the match for Lancashire.
Unicorns got off to a very good start, as their openers Thornely and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Robert-Alexander-Campbell-c66044 put together a terrific half-century partnership. They collected 75 runs at the top of the order, guiding their side in a solid position.
Thornely was looking threatening for the opposition, but missed-out on a half-century by just three runs. He scored 47 runs off 38 balls with the help of nine boundaries before being dismissed.
