The hosts would have been under immense pressure once they came out to bat in their second innings, but did a fabulous job to bounce back in the game.

The pitch had eased out for batting and the hosts had a very good chance of setting a solid target for the opposition. They did not miss out on this wonderful opportunity, setting a target of 280 runs for Warwickshire.

The pair put together 208 runs for the fourth wicket partnership, guiding the team into a very strong position. The marathon partnership finally came to an end with the dismissal of Croft, who collected 122 runs in the innings. He struck 11 fours and 1 massive six in his valiant knock.
