Worcestershire gave a phenomenal performance in all departments against Lancashire in the four-day match between the two counties, winning the game on the penultimate day by a mammoth margin of 205 runs, at Old Trafford, Manchester.
The three days of play gave fans a spectacular contest where they saw both teams giving their best, as the game was equally poised till the third day when Worcestershire really turned things around, by giving a belligerent bowling performance.
Having had amassed a tally of 291 runs in their first innings, Worcestershire restricted their opponents on a tally of 162, gaining an upper hand against their opponents.
The proceedings on the third day began with Worcestershire resuming their second innings from a tally of nine runs with openers DKH Mitchell and PJ Hughes coming out to bat their team to a big total.

While SC Kerrigan was the second best as he nabbed three wickets to restrict the batting side on a total of 139 runs with VS Solanki as the top batsman after having jabbed an innings of 50 runs.
Needing 269 runs to win and almost more than a day left, Lancashire were in a position to win the match, however, Worcestershire bowler MM Ali gave an astounding performance by taking six wickets and playing a dominating role in restricting Lancashire on a tally of 63 runs, as their batting line-up was incinerated, restricting the batsmen from scoring in double figures except for wicketkeeper/batsman GD Cross, who scored 20 runs.
