Lancaster fields changed team for the midweek clash – Rugby News Update
England play their second midweek game against the South African Barbarians this Tuesday, before they lock horns against the Springboks for the final match of the tour.
Staying with his policy of announcing a changed squad for the midweek games, Stuart Lancaster, the head coach of England, is going to give his periphery players a chance to earn a place in the starting team for the third test.
Lancaster said, "We have talked today about finishing the tour strongly this week and these players have a great opportunity to do this in the second of the two midweek games. There are still selection decisions to be made for Saturday but the players' focus
will be on putting in a strong cohesive team performance and building on the positives from last week, but also learning the lessons.”
One player who is going to start the game is Ugo Monye, the 29-year-old winger, who has not played a single game on tour so far. He has had a tight hamstring, which has kept him out of the games, and George Robson of the Harlequins will once again skipper
the England team.
The players have one final chance to impress Lancaster, and get into the reckoning for the final game of the series, this Saturday.
