  1. From his old man - who had the same name.

  3. The nickname comes from his father, who is also Lance "Buddy" Franklin.

  4. i dont care how he got then nickname but it sounds better as Buddy Franklin then Lance Franklin. he is only 21 or wateva and he is a darn good player who will have a good future ahead *Touch Wood*

  5. yeah im not to sure where the nick name comes from

  6. He can be my Buddy if he keeps kicking goals for the mighty Hawks. Hawthorn for the flag 2008.

  7. i dont no, coz hes easy to get along with, hes cute and totally awesome.

  8. When he first went to Hawthorn, that's how he introduced "himself" to others. That's how "he" wanted to be called. It was not dubbed on him, by others, for any reason.

About a fortnight or so ago there was an article in the newspapers by one othe football writers ( for the life of me I can't recall who wrote the article) outlining this fact & how Franklin had introduced himself as Buddy.

This writer went on to say that Franklin should concentrate on his football & not trying to big-note himself with such goings on - & his over the top celebrations when scoring a goal.

  9. i remember it as him being everyones buddy
