Lance Stephenson who? LeBron James responds with a 40-18-9 performance to the ‘choke’ gesture – NBA Update
After the Game 4 performance of 40 points, 18 rebounds and 9 assists, the Indiana Pacers would certainly have learnt one thing – do not make LeBron James angry.
After Lance Stephenson made a 'choke' gesture towards him in game -3, the King respond did respond back with comments, but his real answer came on the court where he simply destroyed the Pacers.
Teaming up with Dwyane Wade, LeBron scorched the Pacers in their own backyard to square the series at 2-all and snatch back the home court advantage from Indiana.
Speaking to the media after a practice on Saturday, James had clearly regarded Lance Stephenson`s act of making a ‘choking’ gesture towards him as a thing of the past and re-iterated he would not let things like that get the better
of him anymore.
“I’m not ... I’ve been there before,” James said. “I’m not going to stoop down to Lance Stephenson. Lance Stephenson? You guys want me to quote about Lance Stephenson? I’m not even going to give him the time. Knock it off.”
James asserted that he was oblivious of the fact due to his routine of not watching television, and he has no idea what the hype is all about. Several videos of the gesture had gone viral since the Game 3 94-75 loss for Miami,
which came while James missed a technical free throw in the third quarter of the game.
After the Game-3, Stephenson had also come out to offer a personal apology to the Miami team and his own team mates for bringing all the wrong attention to this series.
“I was wrong and disrespectful to my teammates, the Miami Heat and their organization, I’m sorry that I did that. It was very disrespectful.” – Stephenson had said.
Before the game Miami Coach Erik Spoelstra also labelled the issue as not being a huge concern for his team and he did get the best out of his stars as they put up astounding numbers in Game-4.
Speaking to the media, after a practice on Saturday, Spo had said.
“That has no relevance to how we’re planning on getting this game (Sunday),”
He did make one thing clear that Chris Bosh will not be playing this game, let alone be courtside to support his team, however he had an optimistic tone to his voice as he contemplated that he is making progress while recovering
from abdominal strain which has sideline the big man since Game 1.
