Land Rover Discovery Tow Bar

Question

Just bought a new Discovery but have a slight problem with the towbar. The vehicle has been supplied with the tow bar fitted to the lowest of the four available holes on the tow plate. This setting is too low for the outfit and needs to be raised. The problem is that increasing the height of the towbar (and using spacers, long length bolts and a 4x4 bicycle rack bracket) results in the Bulldog stabiliser bracket on the tow bar having insufficient clearance from the tow plate.Has anyone else encountered this problem? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
