Land Trains?

If you know what a land train is, then please could you try and answer this question. Does anyone know where I could purchase one from. In the UK and is quite powerful.(.eg, can pull 2/3 trailers.) Can you help?

  1. Land Train is a term used in the outback of Australia where LORRIES pull extra long cargo's often with 2 or 3 trailers.

    they are standard HGV lorries but in Australia they are allowed to pull these extra long loads. the trailers have an option to add another trailer on the back so its the trailers that are special not so much the lorries.

    in Europe there are laws governing the maximum weight and length of a lorry. so its NOT possible to do one here in the UK.


  2. They do not exist in the UK. You may see two trailers sometimes very occasionally but not two or three trailers. Our roads can't cope with it - this is the UK and not the US or Australia.

  3. There is the low speed, passenger carrying Dotto Road Train built in Italy, they are mainly used as seaside attractions but we had a couple at the Gateshead Garden Festival in 1990.
